Lara Croft Fan Art — Acrylic on Wooden Panel (Tokyo Art Tank Vol. 13)
Artist Notes
This piece is my fan-art tribute to Lara Croft from Tomb Raider—a character who has always represented resilience, intelligence, and fearless curiosity. I wanted to capture that iconic sense of motion and focus that defines her, while giving the painting a hand-crafted, physical presence through a non-traditional surface.
The artwork was created in 2024 for Tokyo Art Tank Volume 13. At the time, I was rushing to prepare for the event, so although the painting was completed and shown, I never properly shared it online. I’m happy to finally publish it now and give it the space it deserves.
For this work, I used acrylic paint on a wooden box instead of canvas. The wood adds weight and texture, and it changes how the paint sits on the surface—edges, brush marks, and layers all feel a little more tactile and raw. That material choice felt right for Lara Croft: grounded, rugged, and built for adventure.
Even as fan art, this piece is also part of my ongoing practice—exploring strong character-driven portraits, cinematic lighting, and surfaces that blur the line between painting and object.
Thanks for taking a look, and for supporting my work.
